Our Curriculum
Our Approach to Learning
At Prisca’s Home Nursery, our curriculum is rooted in the EYFS Statutory Framework (2025–2026), focusing on the three prime and four specific areas of learning to support every child’s unique development. We weave in the values of Maria Montessori’s approach, fostering independence, curiosity, and a love for learning through hands-on exploration, freedom of choice, and a carefully prepared environment. We believe each child learns best at their own pace, guided by respectful observation and gentle encouragement. Together, EYFS and Montessori principles create a nurturing space where confidence, creativity, and independence flourish.
Our Curriculum and Educational Philosophy
Our educational approach is rooted in play-based learning, social development, and nurturing each child's natural curiosity and sense of wonder. We provide a rich variety of activities that respond to each child's unique learning style, interests, and stage of development.
Our curriculum is guided by the new EYFS Statutory Framework (2025–2026), an ambitious plan covering the seven areas of learning. We place strong emphasis on language and communication development, ensuring children build confidence in listening, speaking, and expressing themselves. Learning is carefully sequenced so children can build knowledge and skills step-by-step over time, supported by the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning: playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically.
We also weave together the values of Reggio Emilia and Montessori: seeing every child as capable, strong, and full of potential; respecting the environment as a "third teacher"; fostering independence, creativity, and self-expression; and following each child's unique interests and pace. Together with EYFS, this creates a beautifully balanced approach, ambitious yet child-centred, structured yet flexible, where every child can flourish.

Our story
What began as a mother’s passion, wanting the very best start for every child, has grown into a setting built on care, knowledge, and dedication.
I hold the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce, have recently graduated in Health and Social Science, and am now completing my Master of Business Administration (MBA) to lead our nursery with the highest standards of care and professional management.
Working alongside me, my assistant holds a Diploma in Child Psychology, brings valuable experience working as a Teaching Assistant in school, and is currently completing her Level 3 in Childcare.
Together, we combine strong professional qualifications, deep understanding of child development, and a warm, nurturing approach, creating a safe, happy space where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow.
